Now Includes Built-In Dynamic PDF Forms Creation and Processing

 

Marlborough, MA – February 3, 2005 - FileMark Corporation, a leading provider of document processing, archiving and records management solutions, today announced the availability of SMARTi Workflow 2.0 as an integral component of the SMARTi Integrated Document Processing System.  SMARTi Workflow facilitates the automated routing of all types of business documents to eliminate cumbersome, inefficient and error-prone paper-based work processes.  SMARTi Workflow 2.0 now includes the ability to create, route, fill-in, validate and electronically sign PDF forms.

SMARTi Workflow can be used for document approval routing, action requests, business transaction processing or multi-step case management applications.  SMARTi Workflow is notable in that it is extremely simple to set up and even easier to use.  Pre-defined workflow steps are automatically initiated when specific document types are captured into the SMARTi Document Repository.  Work items, which can include documents, electronic forms and running case notes, are sequentially routed to work queues of specific users or roles.  All work items are stored in database tables for maximum scalability, security, referential integrity, status monitoring and audit trails.  SMARTi Workflow can also seamlessly integrate and bi-directionally exchange data with external databases and business applications.

Dynamic PDF forms can be easily created from existing files, regardless of format.  User-defined field definitions can include automatic validations, mathematical calculations, table lookups and digital signatures.  SMARTi PDF forms can be linked to documents of any type including images, statements, invoices, reports, eMail, faxes, office documents, other electronic forms, multi-media or Web pages.  Users can easily locate archived SMARTi electronic forms using indexed full text search, direct metadata search or by simply browsing through hierarchical drawers and folders.  SMARTi PDF forms are fully compatible with Adobe Acrobat^®, Adobe Reader^® and the SMARTi PDF Viewer for forms fill-in and for viewing digital signatures.
